A Distinguished and Respected Mediator and Arbitrator.

After over 27 years as an av-rated active trial attorney in commercial matters and contracts and in labor and employment law, Lynn Cole shifted her litigation practice in 2004 to one which exclusively focuses on mediation, arbitration and other effective ADR processes such as Special Magistrate (State) and Special Master (Federal). In addition to her extensive trial and appellate experience in both federal and state evidentiary and procedural law, she brings an extensive portfolio of experience to her domestic to her well-established ADR practice. She is Florida-certified as a circuit-civil mediator and Harvard-trained and listed as both a mediator and arbitrator for the Middle District of Florida. Ms. Cole is certified by the International Mediation Institute (The Hague) and has been selected to serve with such prestigious ADR organizations American Arbitration Association (AAA); the International Institute for Conflict Resolution and Prevention (CPR); the International Chamber of Commerce (“ICC”); the World Organization of Intellectual Property (WIPO) in the Hague; and FINRA. In 2020, Lynn was recognized by the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals as a Diplomate Member for services to the ADR Community.

A Mediator With International Experience.

Her work in mediation is multi-faceted. She currently serves as President of Mediators Beyond Borders International, an international NGO which works to build a more “peace-able” world through the advocacy of mediation worldwide. As a USAID Mediation Consultant, she has assisted in bringing mediation to Bulgaria, Jordan, and Kosovo.  Pending is her most recent assignment to bring mediation to Palestine.

A Mediation Trainer and Teacher.

Ms. Cole also is a mediation trainer recognized by the Florida Supreme Court’s Dispute Resolution Center and teaches mediation courses in Florida for CLE credits. A former Adjunct Professor of ADR at Stetson University College of Law, she now serves as President of the Cole Academy for International Mediation Training offering such courses domestically. Internationally, she has taught Commercial Mediation; Ethics; and, Basic and Advanced Mediation.  She has lectured and taught mediation courses domestically for students in several universities and law schools and internationally for judges and mediators from Turkey, Greece, Cypress, Jordan, Oman, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Kosovo and Croatia.

A Mediator and Arbitrator with Vision.

Long ago Ms. Cole recognized the need to reach rural populations both in the US and developing Rule of Law countries where she taught mediation and, so, established an On-Line Mediation Program as an early proponent of safe and private mediations on-line.
